After a turbulent election campaign, the United States elected Joe Biden as its 46th President. This January the 20th , Biden will take office and policy adjustments are expected in the US foreign policy that would impact the US engagement in most regions in the world.
As part of the US Diplomacy Month , the Global Diplomatic Forum will organise a series of webinars that address questions related to US Diplomacy and potential scenarios that will transform its policies for different regions in the world . These Webinars host a panel of experts and bring a fresh perspective into the debate of US global engagement.
The youth talents, resources, perspectives and energy are still significantly untapped in the diplomatic work. Youth are valuable assets in both developing and implementing policies of engagement with foreign countries :
· Youth provide an efficient channels in connecting communities through cultural diplomacy and international exchange
· Youth are best placed and qualified to take opportunities provided by Information and communication technologies for diplomacy
· Youth movement are the most effective in tackling global challenges
· Youth are leaders now, and not engaging them, policies risks to fall into irrelevance
The Engaging Youth in Diplomacy Series is part of on ongoing series that will address the perspective of global youth on key issues of international affairs and diplomacy.
The proceedings of the webinar will focus on four themes:
1. Engaging youth in US foreign policy is it happening, trough what channels is it happening and what is the impact the youth are making?
2. To what extent the US is engaging with foreign youth in its diplomatic work? How is youth making an impact outside the government platform?
3. What are the policy areas of youth interest?
4. What are the opportunities and challenges for youth to make as the leaders?
