Their recent VERSUZ episode was an unadulterated success, as fans around the world celebrated two great and influential groups – The Isley Brothers and Earth Wind & Fire.

And now the friendship that was so clear during the show is going to continue in the studio, as the two legendary acts are recording new music together. Ron Isley today posted on both Facebook and Instagram a photo of the two acts, with the caption «With my friends recording some new music. It’s really going to be amazing! @theisleybrothers @earthwindandfire.

The Isley Brothers have been part of our lives for more than six decades and over that period have, in many incarnations, stayed relevant with their unique blending of rock & roll and deep soul balladry. And for the past half century, Earth Wind & Fire has arguably been the most influential R&B band, with their Imperial Period of 1975-85 being containing some of the most iconic albums in soul music history. That these two acts are recording together for the first time is a momentous occasion for music.
